Arrival & accommodation

The UNSW Institute of Languages has its own Accommodation Officer to guide you in finding suitable student accommodation. A range of accommodation options are available, including short and long-term accommodation such as Homestay (living with an Australian family) or renting a flat with other students.

Students live in a home with an Australian family that provides a furnished bedroom and use of the house. Homestay enables students to learn more about Australian culture and practise their English at the same time. Two options are available: Part-Board provides a student with their own room and two meals a day, or a Room.
Home placement fee: AUD$245 (subject to change without notice)
Homestay four weeks part board: AUD$1,020 ($255 per week x 4)
Homestay four weeks room only: AUD$760 ($190 per week x 4)

If you are Under 18 and would like to study at the UNSW Institute of Australia, but do not have a parent or guardian to stay with while you are here, our Accommodation Officer can help you with accommodation and care arrangements. All under 18 students are required to complete a Care and Appropriate Welfare Form (CAAW) on application. As this service requires UNSW Global to carry out extensive preliminary checks before issuing the CAAW, an additional fee is charged. This fee includes a set-up charge of AUD$410 plus AUD$15 a week while the student is under 18 years of age. See full information for applicants under 18 years of age.

UniLodge Residential College (UniLodge@UNSW) is located in Kensington and is specifically designed for young students. UniLodge offers fully furnished studio and multi-bedroom serviced apartments. The college is five minutes walking distance from the UNSW campus. See www.unilodge.com.au
