זוהי אחת האוניברסיטאות הגדולות והמוכורות בסידני והבין לאומיות ביותר באוסטרליה, ובה לומדים כ- 28,000 סטודנטים. לאוניברסיטה חמישה קמפוסים: ב- Kensington , Paddington ב- Randwick ו- Coogee בסידני וב University College ב- Canberra.

המרכז ללימוד אנגלית כשפה זרה (INSTITUTE OF LANGUAGES) מיועד לסטודנטים זרים והוא מציע קורסים באנגלית כשפה זרה בשניים מן הקמפוסים:

RANDWICK CAMPUS

KENSINGTON CAMPUS

הקמפוס הזה נמצא 5 קילומטרים מן העיר סידני בקרבת פארק יפה ולא רחוק מחופים מפורסמים. בקמפוס זה מציע המרכז מגוון של קורסים באנגלית. באותו הקמפוס לומדים סטודנטים אוסטרליים ולתלמידים של המרכז יש גישה לכל אתרי הספורט של הקמפוס.

הקורסים באנגלית כללית:

  • 6 רמות לימוד - משך לימוד לכל רמה: 10 שבועות
  • 25 שעות לימוד (של 60 דקות) בשבוע - 20 שיעורים בכיתה + 5 שיעורים של לימוד עצמי מודרך
  • מערכת השעות: ימי ב' עד ו' מ 09.00 עד 11.00 , מ 11.45 עד 13.45, מ 14.15 עד 16.15
  • 2 עד 3 מורים לכל כיתה
  • גיל ממוצע: 22 (לא בחודשי הקיץ)

בקמפוס זה מציע המרכז קורסים באנגלית כהכנה ללימודים אקדמיים (EAP = ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES) ברמות שונות. מטרת קורסים אלה היא הכשרת תלמידים זרים ללימודים באוניברסיטה בסביבה דוברת אנגלית ובו בזמן להקנות להם מיומנויות ללימודים אקדמיים. – משך הקורסים האלה הוא בין 5 עד 10 שבועות.

הקורס המתקדם בין קורסים אלה הינו הקורס הנקרא
(UEEC) UNSW ENGLISH ENTRY COURSE . משך הקורס הוא 10 שבועות והוא מקנה למסיימים העומדים בתנאי הקורס כניסה ללימודים באוניברסיטה UNSW ללא צורך במבחן כניסה באנגלית (בתנאי שהמועמד ללימודים באוניברסיטה עומד בתנאי קבלה הכלליים של האוניברסיטה).
