Business English courses

What we offer

Our full-time English for Business courses are designed to help you communicate effectively in any business situation. They also provide an excellent introduction to formal business study in Australia. Students are given the opportunity to expand their English and business skills while engaging with experienced teachers and a diverse, multicultural group of fellow students.

Our Business English courses run for 20 weeks divided into 4 x 5 week terms; each term can be studied alone. The courses are offered at two levels:

IBEC - Intermediate Business English Communication, and
ABEC - Advanced Business English Communication

Content covered includes international marketing, management styles, finance, innovation, takeovers and mergers, the share market, hospitality and tourism and more. To maximise learning, a variety of activities are undertaken, including presentation skills, professional writing, negotiations and meetings through case studies, team projects and role plays. At the Intermediate level, you can also prepare for the TOEIC exam. For real-life insights into the world of commerce, we engage the services of guest speakers from the business community and take students on excursions to visit local businesses. In both courses, there is an emphasis on team work and learning to do business with people from other cultures.
