PEAT Preparation for Overseas Trained Teachers Click here for --> More information on this course All NESB teachers seeking employment with the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) are required to have their qualifications assessed by the School Staffing Unit (22 Main Street, Blacktown, phone: 9836 9751) and to pass the Professional English Assessment for Teachers (PEAT). The PEAT is held throughout the year at the UNSW Institute of Languages on behalf of DET. The following training is offered by the Institute of Languages to overseas qualified teachers who are intending to sit the PEAT test.PEAT Workshops for Overseas Teachers (Saturday Morning Workshops) Each workshop will focus on the skills and strategies necessary to pass rather than on language development.
