English for Further Study courses are suitable for students who need to develop the language skills to assist with further study at university or TAFE, and to communicate more effectively in the Australian context. Courses include an introduction to IELTS.

Course content includes:

  • reading, writing, speaking and listening skills development
  • advanced grammar and vocabulary
  • essay writing skills
  • formal letter writing
  • interpreting graphs and tables
  • oral presentations
  • discussions
  • colloquial and idiomatic English
  • listening and note-taking
  • reading newspapers/current events
  • video listening
  • telephoning

Course topics for the full time course include:

  • Medical Issues

On successful completion of the full time course students are awarded a Certificate 3 in Spoken and Written English. Students may progress to a Level 4 course after completion of Level 3.
