UNSW Institute of Languages can design courses for individuals or for groups from the corporate or government sectors in many languages. Courses can be tailor-made to focus on the learning priorities of the clients and on developing active and receptive communication skills.

UNSW Institute of Languages is an approved IELTS testing centre. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test is a globally recognised English language proficiency assessment designed to assess the English language ability of international candidates.

We also conduct the TOEIC test for business English, as well as offering a range of language tests in 70 languages other than English for corporate clients or government agencies who wish to have the language skills of employees or prospective employees assessed and accredited. We can design language tests to suit the needs of different organisations.

The Institute is also a test centre for the Professional English Assessment for Teachers PEAT.

The Institute of Languages offers intensive test preparation courses designed to prepare undergraduate or postgraduate students for university entrance tests and academic study.

For any person requiring an external English language qualification for business or immigration purposes, the Institute provides test preparation for IELTS general and academic modules and for the Cambridge Examination which measures students' proficiency in general English. The Institute also provides NAATI test preparation for candidates preparing to take the NAATI test in translation.
